Advanced Nitrox Diver

This course examines the use of EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40 meters / 130 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression.  Decompression Procedures or the Intro to Tech may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor.

Prerequisites for entering the course: 

  1. Certification as Advanced Open Water  Diver ( or equivalent )

  2. Minimum age of 18 years old

  3. Certification as Enriched Air Dive ( or equivalent )

  4. Have minimum of 25 logged dives.

Duration: 

The course will require 2-3 days of: diving ( 4 dives min ), academic sessions and 2 or more equipment configuration sessions.   

 

Qualification of graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in diving activities utilizing EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen without direct supervision provided:

1. The diving activities approximate those of training
2. The areas of activities approximate those of training
3. Environmental conditions approximate those of training

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to enroll in:

   1.  Decompression Procedures Course
  2.  Extended Range Course

Equipment Requirements:

Each diver will be required to have a complete set of personal dive equipment.

  1. Double cylinders or sidemount gear configuration of at least 80 cubic feet each with isolator manifold.

  2. The isolator manifold is not required for sidemount gear configuration.

  3. Primary and secondary regulators for back mounted double manifolds, one with 2 meters/7 ft long hose for air sharing and one with SPG. Note: In sidemount configuration both regulators must have SPG and one 2 meters/7ft  long hose for air sharing.

  4. Stage/decompression cylinder with regulator and SPG, with staging kit and properly labeled.

  5. Tec diving BCD and harness ( backmount or sidemount )

  6. Dive computer ( single or multi-gas ) and back up computer or timer and depth gauge with dive tables.

  7. Exposure suit appropriate for environment and dive duration

  8.  Weight system if required

  9.  Jon line ( as needed for environment )

  10.  Inflatable signal tube, whistle and/or other visual and audible surface signaling device ( as needed for environment ).

  11.  Reel and lift bag

  12.  Cutting device

  13. Slate

  14. Back up mask

  15. Compass

  16. Lights as required for environment

  17. Back up buoyancy control ( dry suit and/or double wing system )

  18. Reel and lift bag ( min 100 lbs lift )

Decompression Pr. Diver

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with Advanced Nitrox, Advanced Wreck, or Extended Range Course. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 meters / 150 feet unless taught in conjunction with the  Extended Range Course. The most common equipment requirements, equipment set-up and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.

Prerequisites for entering the course: 

  1. Certification as Advanced Open Water  Diver ( or equivalent )

  2. Minimum age of 18 years old

  3. Certification as Enriched Air Dive ( or equivalent )

  4. Have minimum of 25 logged dives

Duration: 

The course will require 2-3 days of : diving ( 4 dives min ) , academic sessions and 2 or more equipment configuration sessions.  

 

Qualification of graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in decompression diving activities without direct supervision provided:

  1. The diving activities approximate those of training

Helitrox Diver

The Helitrox course examines the theory, methods and procedures for planned stage decompression diving utilizing Helium in the breathing mixture. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with TDI Advanced Nitrox at the discretion of the instructor. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 meters / 150 feet. The most common equipment requirements, gear set-up, and decompression techniques are presented. Students are permitted to utilize Enriched Air Nitrox and Helium mixes with no greater than 20% He content, and up to 100% oxygen for decompression diving provided the gas mix is within their current certification level. Breathing gas mixtures containing more than 20% Helium or less than 21% oxygen are not permitted (+/- 1%).

Prerequisites for entering the course: 

  1. Certification as Advanced Open Water  Diver ( or equivalent )

  2. Minimum age of 18 years old

  3. Certification as Advanced Nitrox Diver ( or equivalent )

  4. Have minimum of 50 logged dives

 

Duration: 

The course will require 2-3 days of : diving ( 4 dives min ) , academic sessions and 2 or more equipment configuration sessions.  

 

Qualification of graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in decompression diving activities without direct supervision, utilizing helium and/or nitrox mixtures so long as:

  1. The diving activities approximate those of training

  2. The areas of activities approximate those of training

  3. Environmental conditions approximate those of training

  4. Breathing mixtures do not contain more than 20% Helium or less than 21% Oxygen (+/- 1%) and are within their current diving certification level
    Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to enroll in:

  5. TDI Extended Range Course

  6. TDI Trimix

Trimix

The Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 metres / 200 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases. Gas mixes are not to have any less than 18 percent oxygen (O2).

Prerequisites for entering the course: 

  1. Minimum age of 18 years old.

  2. Certification as Advanced Nitrox Diver ( or equivalent )

  3. Certification as Decompression Procedures Diver

  4. Minimum of 100 logged dives.

Duration: 

The course will require 3 days of : diving ( 4 dives min ), academic sessions and 2 or more equipment configuration sessions.

 

Qualification of graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in technical diving utilizing custom trimix mixtures without direct supervision provided:

  1. The diving activities approximate those of training.

  2. The areas of activities approximate those of training.

  3. Environmental conditions approximate those of training.

  4.  Oxygen (O2) percentage 18% or higher.

Advanced Trimix

The TDI Advanced Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and / or oxygen (O2) mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 100 metres / 330 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases.

Prerequisites for entering the course: 

  1. Minimum age 18

  2. Minimum certification TDI Extended Range Diver or Entry Level Trimix Diver,  or equivalent.

  3. Provide proof of a minimum 100 logged dives with 25 deeper than 30 m /100 Ft

  4. Provide proof of prior logged experience w/ double cylinders and any other unfamiliar equipment such as dry suit.

Duration: 

The course will require 3 days of : diving ( 4 dives min ), academic sessions and 2 or more equipment configuration sessions.  

 

Qualification of graduates:

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in technical diving utilizing custom trimix mixtures without direct supervision provided:

  1. The diving activities approximate those of training.

  2. The areas of activities approximate those of training.

  3. Environmental conditions approximate those of training.
